What does it mean when an investment is held as a book-entry only?
In today's world of computers, investment certificates, representing the investor's ownership, are no longer issued by corporations and governments. For capital trust securities no certificates will be issued. Ownership will be registered in the book-entry system operated by The Canadian Depository for Securities Limited (CDS). All future transactions will be recorded by CDS.
